First day in, dieting challenges continue

Well, it was not too bad of a day yesterday, getting back on track after about 2 months of coasting (and gaining).  One of the advantages of the work day is that the diet sort of takes care of itself.  If you have three medifast supplements, and a shaker jar, and you don't hit the ATM machine, well, you end up doing pretty well on the diet.

For me, the challenge was, and is, the evening hours.  Say I get home at 5 pm, those six or so hours before bed make or break the diet.  I could be doing perfect up until that point, but the desire to relax a bit, take it easy and grab a bit to eat is pretty strong.  I'm still working out how I'll get back to being satisfied with my lean and green meal and one remaining supplement.  One thing I'm going to start is to take my Biolean weight loss supplement in the evening instead of during the day.  The appetite controller should help me get through the evening hours, but the enengy boost will still wear off before bed.

The weight loss war rages on

It goes without saying that if a weight loss blog goes untouched for a month, the new ususally isn't good.  Well, that's no different here!  After a vacation, the willpower never really got back up to snuff and then we entered the summer birthday season and everything went out the window.  Add to that opening ourselves up to another blessing of a baby and needless to say it's been a struggle.  I (Jason) am currently about 15 pounds above my Medifast low, but still 21.5 less than when I started the diet in March.  My wife is more or less maintaining as we see if God has another child in store for us. 

But I'm going to start anew.  I'll update the blog with my progress and thoughts as the journey continues.  The target weight loss is 82 pounds and if I can stick with it, I know I'll get there by Christmas.  Of course, it's not lost on me that if I didn't falter starting in about June, I'd already be more than halfway there, but those are the breaks!
